Research and Development

There is a vast amount of research within the SST community at present.

Particular challenges for the GHRSST-PP include:

• Accounting for diurnal variability in SST
• Cloud clearing of infrared satellite data sets
• Bias correction
• Calibration of microwave satellite radiometers
• Validation of SST data products, satellite sensors and analysis products
• SST analysis systems
• Satellite SST data management in a distributed real time environemnt
